Celebrating Staff

The Staff Senate promotes the hard-working staff of the University of Arkansas.

We orchestrate Staff Appreciation Week in the fall, the annual Staff Celebration Picnic in the spring, and we recognize those who have contributed the most through the Employees of the Quarter and Year awards.

Also we annually celebrate the annual Outstanding Staff Team Award and the Part-time Employee Award.

Staff Appreciation Week

This celebration now runs the week following Spring Commencement. For 2026, that's the week beginning Monday, May 11.. Share your thoughts and appreciation for our outstanding staff on social media with #StaffSooie.

Staff Celebration Picnic

The Staff Senate plans and hosts this event to honor the hard-working staff of the university, utilizing donations from local vendors and businesses. Many food options are available, as well as a vendor fair and door prizes. The University of Arkansas staff are incredible and this is a wonderful time to say thanks!

For 2026, the picnic will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the 1021 Food Hall.
