Staff Senate Members in the Student Affairs Division
AnReckez Daniels
Hello, my name is AnReckez Daniels and I have been working at the U of A since 2017. I was born and raised in southwest Arkansas, and I attended undergrad at the University of Central Arkansas. I currently serve as the Assistant Director of the Multicultural Center, and last year I was awarded Employee of the Year. In May, I will be graduating with my Master of Human Resource Development.
What excites me most about serving on Staff Senate is being able to advocate for staff. In my current role, I spend a lot of time advocating and creating a sense of belonging for students. Serving on Staff Senate will afford me the opportunity to do the same thing for staff on this campus. Being on Staff Senate will allow me to represent the interest and concerns of my fellow staff members. Being able to voice these concerns to higher levels of administration will be empowering and fulfilling.
Katherine Miller
Katherine, a staff senator from University Recreation, is the Assistant Director of UREC Outdoors, having started as graduate assistant for the program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Crop and Soil Science with a minor in Outdoor Leadership from North Carolina State University and a Master of Education in Recreation and Sport Management from the University of Arkansas.
I love serving on the Staff Senate because I get to support my colleagues and make sure their voices are heard. It's rewarding to work with such dedicated people and help create a positive, inclusive work environment. Plus, it's great to be part of initiatives that bring our community together and make a real difference.
Ashley Reeves
Ashley Reeves, originally from Bryant, Arkansas, has worked at the University of Arkansas for 12 years. She spent the first six years in the Undergraduate Admissions Office, where she served as the Assistant Director of New Student Orientation. Since then, Ashley has worked in the College of Engineering as the Industrial Engineering Operations Manager and Executive Assistant to the Department Head. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Arkansas Tech University and a Master of Education in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Beyond her professional achievements, Ashley is a proud wife to John and a devoted mother to Ellis and Remi.
What I like most about serving on the University of Arkansas Staff Senate is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our staff and the broader university community. Being part of this dedicated group allows me to collaborate with colleagues from various departments, gaining diverse perspectives and insights. It's incredibly fulfilling to contribute to initiatives that enhance our workplace environment, advocate for staff welfare, and support professional development. The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose within the Staff Senate is truly inspiring, and I am proud to play a role in fostering a positive and inclusive campus culture. Specifically, I serve as the Chair of the Employee of the Quarter/Year program and nothing makes me happier than the privilege of celebrating staff members from across campus!
Kaitlyn Riggin
I grew up in a small farm town in northeast Arkansas, and I moved to Fayetteville and started with the University in 2021. I currently serve as a Staff Senator and the Associate Director for U of A Cares. In my role, I support students navigating extenuating circumstances/barriers and provide helpful resources.
I enjoy being able to work with and advocate for so many people across campus that I typically wouldn't have connected with in my position. We have some incredible people at the U of A, and building those connections has been my favorite part!
Mary Skinner
My name is Mary Skinner, and I serve as the Director for the Office of Student Activities (a department within the Division of Student Affairs). I have worked at the university 20 years and become a alumni in 2020 when I finished my doctorate. My name is finally in Senior Walk. GO HOGS!
I am most excited about advocating for staff and hearing about experiences staff are having at the university. It is important to hear the positive and negative stories so we can make changes to improve all staff experiences. I am also very excited about all the Staff Senate recognitions including Employee of the Quarter/Year and Team Award along with scholarships.
